PRIMEFISH

PrimeFish project is developing an innovative market orientated prediction toolbox. It allows to strengthen the economic sustainability and competitiveness of European Seafood on Local and Global markets.

PrimeFish is a research and innovation program of the European Union. The objective of this project is to create tools to improve the competitiveness of the European fishing and aquaculture industries. Stéphane GANASSALI coordinates Work Package 4 “Products, consumers and market trends”.

The year 2017 was particularly rich because most of the spots were completed during these twelve months. In Paris, in January, a meeting made it possible to plan the field analyzes to be carried out during the year 2017. All the consortium of the project met in April, in Vilanova i la Geltrú (Spain) for the second annual meeting. In June, in Copenhagen (Denmark), Work Package 3 met to focus on supply chains.

At the World Seafood Congress (WSC) held in September in Reykjavik (Iceland), Olga UNTILOV (PhD student at Savoie Mont Blanc University) presented the results of the Work Package 4 and in particular the market trends of the Peach. In October, in Dubrovnik (Croatia), the Project Technical Committee met to discuss the progress of deliverables and the preparation of the 3rd Annual Meeting.

The year ended with the last meeting of Work Package 4 which took place at IAE Savoie Mont Blanc in Annecy in November. The objective was to present the results of studies on consumer behavior, as well as to exchange on potential scientific articles. These results will be exploited during 2018 for more technical Work Packages that contribute directly to the development of online help tools.
