December 8, 2022 – Sustainable Tourism Chair
The scientific committee of the “Sustainable Tourism” research chair brought together researchers and partners to detail and discuss the research areas that emerged from the prefiguration phase, their development into specific projects and the first fieldwork.
The first axis, devoted to sustainable business models, is based on the start of Angèle Richard’s thesis, supervised by Elodie Gardet and Romain Gandia, in conjunction with the “Grand (La)Bo” project, which constitutes her first field of observation. Uses and conflicts around mid-mountain bivouacs (Dominique Kreziak), representation of Wwoofing (Margot Dyen and Roxane Favier) and the potential of tourists as patrons (project led by Elodie Manthé, with international collaborations) constitute the first fields of investigation of the axis devoted to uses.
Finally, the Courchevel Méribel 2023 World Ski Championships and their articulation with the territorial projects of their host destinations have given rise to a first round of data collection (Dominique Kreziak, Benoit Regent, Véronique Favre-Bonté), which will continue during and after the event, notably with Emilie Ruiz. Axis 3 will be completed by the analysis of the organizational effects of the labeling procedures of mountain resorts, proposed by Matthieu Battistelli. The team is also expanding with the arrival of a research engineer.
