This project is part of the Programme et équipement prioritaires de recherche (PEPR) sous sol (Priority Research Program and Equipment for the Subsoil), aimed at the responsible and sustainable use of the subsoil. This program is funded as part of the France 2030 plan, is co-piloted by the CNRS and the BGRM, and involves over 30 partner institutions and laboratories. It comprises 13 targeted research projects, including TAEF, which focuses on the economic dimension of subsoil mining.
IREGE’s objectives in this project are :
– define reference values for mineral resources,
– analyze the evolution of mineral resource prices when recycling develops, in uncertain times, and when new technologies or uses appear,
– design regulatory policies in the presence of recycling, with heterogeneous resources, for exploration contracts in the event of pollution risks, and for carbon capture and storage coupled with geothermal energy.
