At the end of January the PrimeFish project ended, after four years of work, with a final and international meeting in Vigo, Spain. The consortium presented an innovative decision support framework including forecasting models and economic intelligence instruments to enhance the competitiveness and economic viability of the European seafood industry.
This meeting was accompanied by a conference focusing on the presentation of research reports as well as the computer tool – PrimeDSS – intended to help the European fishing and aquaculture industries in their decision-making.
150 representatives of the industrial world and researchers from different institutions, including Institute of Management Research and Economics (IREGE), determined to improve the performance of the fisheries and aquaculture sectors in Europe, were present at this conference .
As coordinator of work package 4, Stéphane GANASSALI, researcher at the REGE of Savoie Mont Blanc University, presented the results of the study on the impact of negative information on fish consumption. For her part, Olga UNTILOV, PhD student at IREGE, presented the Product Success Check Instrument of the PrimeDSS tool. This tool uses a regression model to calculate the best match between various consumer segments and the producer’s product. It aligns product attributes and specific consumer groups to improve the likelihood of success for launching a new seafood product into the market.
The presentation of the results of the project to the Executive Agency for Research in Brussels will take place on February 13, 2019.
